Sperati made reproductions of the 5c 1870 issue used for use in Cuba and Puerto Rico in a single type. Genuine stamps were washed and a new design added. All cancels are forged. Only proofs are reported for the 1878 and 1879 10c issues.

1.there is a break in the outer frameline above the first "R" of "CORREOS"

2. the line is broken under the "C" of "Ce"


1878 issue 10c

1.
there is a dot adjoining the inner frameline to the left of the "A" of "CUBA"

2. the top right serif of the second "E" of "PESETA" is broken off and there is an indentation in the right serof of the "T"

1. there is a white spot in the frame over the "B" of "CUBA"

2. there is a small dot of color on the inside of the right leg of the "C" of "CUBA"
