Uruguay (Part 1) (Part 2, 1859 to 1864 issues is here)

1856 Diligencia Issue: 60c (3), 60c redrawn design, 80c (2) and 1r (4)
1858 Large Sun Issue: 120c
(2), 180c (2), 240c (4)

Everything about the Uruguay reproductions was made by Sperati. This includes any forged cancels and examples with fake gum. Uruguay was a particular favorite of Sperati as evidenced by the fact that he used the 1856 Diligencia issue "sun face" as a logo. He made several custom orders of Uruguay reproductions for a German collector living in Argentina, William Hoffmann. These included reproductions of specific sheet positions that were needed for plate reconstructions by Hoffmann.
