1852 Issue 50b and 1s

Sperati made reproductions of the two high value Roman States first issue stamps. He reproduced the 50 baj in two different types and the 1 scudo in one type. Everything about them was made by Sperati including the forged cancels.

1. there is a break in the the upper loop of the "B" of "BAJ"

2. the top left serif of the "E" of "POSTALE" is broken away

1. the upper half of "B" in "BOLLO is solid

2. the frameline under the "A" of "BAJ" is broken


1852 Issue 1s

1. the top left serif of the "N" of "FRANCO" is broken away

2. there is no top left serif to the "E" of "POSTALE"
