1901 Issue 2s6d + Overprinted "Papua" (new since Sperati II)

Sperati made a reproduction of the frame of the 1901 issue 2sh6d. A proof in color is known and is shown. He used washed genuine stamps with black central design retained and printed his forged frame. He also made a cliché for a forged "BNG" barred cancel. Chris Cermuga provided the images used on this page excepting only the image of mounted collection page. The images from Chris include a his recent find of a reproduction with "Papua" overprint that has a genuine center and a Sperati's forged frame.
