1861 Issue 1 lepta
1896 Olympics Issue 5d and 10d

Sperati I reports reproductions on genuine paper of the 1861 issue 1 lepta with genuine cancels retained. However, most examples bear forged numeral in dots cancels. His reproductions of the 1896 issue 5d and 10d are on genuine paper with forged cancels.

1861 Issue 1 lepta

1. in the top right corner ornament there extra white spots between the petals

2. just above and to the left of the spacing dot in the top panel is a smaller white spot

3. the two white pearl directly in front of the nose is joined to the white circular line


1896 Olympics Issue 5d

1. the top frame line is broken in two places above the left column

2. the "A" of word a top left is missing the crossbar

3. there is a colored dot at the top right of the white frame at foot


1896 Olympics Issue 10d

1. there is a white spot in the the left half of the "0" of "10" at left

2. the right hand numeral "10" has several white dots in the "1"

3. there is a dent in the underside of the top frameline above the letter "A" of the word at right
