Sperati made several reproductions of the popular barquitos (little ship) issues of Buenos Aires. These include 1p tete-beche pair and a printed on both sides. He also reproduce the liberty head design. Everything about them was made by Sperati and the cancels were forged.

1. there is a heavy spot of color in the top margin above the "S" of "CORREOS"

2. there is a heavy spot of color in the bottom margin below the "A" of "AIRES"


1859 Issue 4r - Type A

1. there is a white horizontal line below the first "R" of "CORREOS"

2. the head of the "F" and of the "R" of "FRANCO" are broken

(a subtype has the diagonal stroke of the "4" solid. Sperati I describes a broken "4" as shown on this stamp)


1859 Issue 4r - Type B

1. the top frameline is very defective and broken on the left half

2. there is a spot of color in margin over the top right ornament


1859 Issue 1p

1. there is a spot in the background above the "EO" of "CORREOS"

2. the head of the "P" of "PESO" is broken
 


1859 Issue 2p

1. there is a spot in the background of the "R" of "CORREOS"

2. there is a white flaw below the chin that appears as a goatee
