Sperati made reproductions of four different Bremen stamps, the 1855 issue 3g, 1856 issue 5g and 7g and the 1861 issue 5sg in five types. They are all complete fabrications and any cancels are forged.

1855 Issue 3g

(exists on horizontal and vertical laid paper)

1. there is a small dot between the crown and the top of the shield

2. there is a small dot inside the outer frameline at right opposite the numeral "3"


1856 Issue 5g

(proof shows characteristics more clearly)

1. there is a small white spot over the "r" of "Franco"

2. the right serif of the "t" of "Grote" forms a loop at the head of the letter


1856 Issue 7g

(mounted page illustrates paper shades)

1. the right serif of the "t" in "Grote" is completely broken away

2. there is a dot of color in the stem of the "k" in "Marke" near the center


1861 Issue 5g - Type A

1. the inner frameline is broken over the first "E" of "BREMEN"

2. there is a dot of color in the central pearl in far left frame

1861 Issue 5g - Types B-C / D-E

Type B
1. there are small breaks in the vertical shading lines above "gr." and "V" at right
2. there is a dot of color to the left of the "5"


Type C
1. there is a break in the outside line of the link at bottom left
2. three vertical lines under the "R" of "BREMEN" have been strengthened


Type D
The top pearl on the right is masked by a large blob of color that covers the white space to the left


Type E
The top pearl on the right has a central blob instead of a round spot
